hi
i'm working on a tv commercial and making pre-viz at the beginning.
but the camera focal lenth(mm) doesn't seems right even when i put it on horizontal
for example i have a hd 1920*1080 camera preset but when i have a normal camera set the focal shows the 4 or 5 that is odd to what i know of normal(45-50)
any clues .?!
and my camera would be red one.

I don't know but I did some investigation and it appears that maybe those are softimage units.
in another section of the users guide:
Field of View
The angular measurement of the amount of the scene that can be viewed by the camera at any one time.
Angle
Specifies the angle of the camera in degrees. A wider angle lets you see more of the scene but may cause distortion, particularly when an object is very close to the camera.
The default camera lens angle is based on a 35-mm Cine format with the assumption that 1 SOFTIMAME unit is equivalent to 1 foot. However, SOFTIMAGE units are arbitrary units that you can define, so you can effectively use the camera lens angle values as you like.
maybe that will provide a clue...

From
this thread
...You have to set the frame size to fit the cameras frame size. Then the mm`s in the cameras properties of XSI will fit the Camera...
Hope this helps (but I'm not sure...
