Softimage @4K resolution?
Did anybody ever try running SI at 3840x2160 resolution?

there is no reason for this to not work, except for these two things
1) you may run out of video ram because double buffer plus zbuffer takes a huge amount of ram for the buffers. If it works, that'll be slow, pushing all these pixels around
2) don't use "large fonts", that'll screw up the Main Command Panel. So... the fonts are going to be very small.
