syflex wind controllers

Post by hidalgo » 20 Jan 2014, 19:37

Hello guys,

there is any way to have more control over the syflex wind? i am trying to have a petal to gently float from a point to another doing a "sort" of leaf path, but the wind controller its way to imprecise to rely only on that...any suggestions?

Thank you

Animate by hand. If you need exact landing position and animation path that isn't unpredictable it's your best shot. Simulation is not that controllable.

Can the leaf be constraint toward a goal?

Thinking like a flocking effect. :-?

@EricTRocks yeah i had initially, but i was after a more natural look

@Daniel Brassard as far as i know a dynamic or simulated objects (the petal) can't be constraint to anything, maybe i am wrong..

Code: Select all

...simulated objects (the petal) can't be constraint to anything...
you could linear interpolate the simulated position and rotation with the desired end position in post simulation stack.
may look unnatural. may also work.

You could use leaf compound and a flow along curve compound then you give the final positions.

Make an emitter point cloud and final positions point cloud
Since there are same number of leafs as final positions you can use a switch node too to get the orientation from the final position point cloud.
