Wool Ball Idea?

Post by Bullit » 24 Nov 2013, 15:53

I am thinking using a sphere rotating in a path passing over a very long strand and getting it stick . Is that feasible and the best way to do it?

Another issue i have to consider is if after building the wool ball i can have a way to push from the strand tip and the ball will rotate and unravel.

well,
Since dealing with strand collision is way too complicated for me. I would take it another way ;-).

I would use at first aligned particles point, colliding and sticking to your geo, then, gathering all those point positions in a second PC to build one point with a strand array represented by all your point positions (on the PC2 use add one point and after get data PC1.pointposition.get array from set -> set self.strandposition), this would likely do the trick ;-)

You should be able to create a strand in the way you would create a woolball.
Move the creating particle around a radius, change the direction over time and resize the radius calculated with the strand thickness while you emit a trail.

Somehow ^^
