Hey guys i hope someone can help me out. we're using soft 2014sp1
i created an ice scalar attribute in a state. so i could blend colors in the render tree for a matte.
it has worked before in several different scenes. but for this current scene i get this error
ERROR : No appropriate export context found for Scalar_Attribute
and i wont call in the scalar data.
any ideas tips.
also
why does the data attribute from ice to the render tree still lose the connection to the ice data.
thanks in advance
what the hell is this error!!! ERROR : No appropriate export

Re: what the hell is this error!!! ERROR : No appropriate export
...when you try to render?
Just a guess...ICE tries to be smart, sometimes, and does not evaluate certain data if it thinks, its not used. As ICE does not know about the rendertree and values it might use, it perhaps does not evaluate your specific value. So I would try to initiate your attribute at particle generation ( set._myValue = 0 for example in the modeling stack or execute on emit). I would also try to use "show values" to make sure, that ICE always evaluates the attribute...
cheers,
oli

thanks for the replay.
there errors appears on render.
yess, the attribute is set on emit. and i also forced the view the attribuite while caching.

You are reading the cache? If so, have you saved the scene closed soft, reopened and cached one more?

i just tried that and it still isn't working. i might need to rebuild my set up from the start.
