Anyone here know, what steps I'd have to take to switch my Windows based network license of Softimage 2014 to an equivalent Linux license?

To expand on my answer: you could try to re-activate your network license, but this time with the new Ethernet address of your Linux box. If that fails, then you have to contact Autodesk because you need a new license that is tied to the new Ethernet address.
All this assumes that your Linux box has a different Ethernet addresss than your Windows machine.
