Where to learn advance Softimage related skills?

Hello SI-community, 3D novice here.
Like the topic has suggested, what are some good ways to learn advance softimage techniques, especially ICE?

While pursuing a degree in Animation, the school I graduated from only offers Maya as the 3d software.
Thus, most of my softimage knowledge is acquired through books, blogs, youtube/vimeos, and some commercial online tutorials(cmivfx, digital tutors, etc.).
Most of these materials sufficiently covers softimage's basic features, yet they seem distant compare to some of the softimage FX reels on vimeo.

What are some ways to improve one's knowledge in softimage and ICE and put them to practical use?
Is there any necessary background or skillset needed to complete the task?
I am eager to learn but have trouble finding a direction.
Much appreciated if someone can share their experience on this topic.

Vimeo has a lot of what i would call advance tutorials about ICE, it one thing that i do almost daily search Vimeo with Softimage keyword.


Then there are Softimage how tos http://www.youtube.com/user/SoftimageHowTos

In http://www.youtube.com/user/AceMastermind1 youtube channel you do have the Softimage 7.x certification training with several ICE lessons, many still relevant to start.
