Bevel For Subd Creasing question.

Post by Richy » 15 Sep 2013, 21:42

Hi Si community. I'm trying to define subd creases with bevel tool. To lineup edges, rounding sharpness is 2,514158. But i get corner vertex pop out from object's volume (corner vertex only). Is there work around to put them back in place without manual each vertex manipulation?

[edit] Nevermind, it didn't work.

[edit2]
I remembered something, so this is my second attempt. Maybe it could help you.

- duplicate your object (Obj A), to set this duplicated as a reference for the points position, and hide it. Lets call this Obj B.
- select your edges and apply bevel
- select your bevel parallel edge loop and subdivide (add an edge)
- select this edge and apply Shrink Wrap to align this edge to the Obj B
- use the Closest Vertex Option in your Shrink Wrap Op
- Now, play with your Bevel options

This may create a few overlapping points if you do complex bevels with 3 or more edges sharing a point, but you could add a FilterPoints Op in the top.

PS:This obviously won't work in Immed mode.

Another attempt.

- Just Disable Tessalate and Add a Filter Points Op on the top.
