avoid repeat node

hello
i'm trying to avoid the repeat node and use arrays instead.

but i don't get it.

in this tree there's a null which sets an initial value of 1 to close points. this value then gets spread over neighbors as i increase the repeats.
unfortunately the repeat node leads to some performance issues with high values, so i wanted to use the array/sample set technique...

in the picture below it's the ice tree (inside the group comment)
and some array testing (outside the group comment)

hope someone could give me some advice.
