Viewport Capture update/alternative

Hi everyone!

Does anyone here know about any planned updates, or current plugins for the SI-Viewport Capture?
I (and probably many others) find it an incredibly useful tool and am using it a lot for layouts and client-previews, but haven't seen any development over the last years.

Are there alternative/3rd party plugins, or plans for new versions supporting transparency, frame-sets, line-thickness, etc.?
