Hi all, i'd like to set up an emission; i've a grid mesh, and i'd want that my point cloud emits a particle (Cube shaped) from every polygon of the mesh. Basically i'm triyng to simulate a sort of abstract thing, where the grid (made of particles) move, separates, etc...
I searched in the help file, but i can't find the node to reorder the emissione for "1 particle for every polygon"

I've not really understood what you whant to achieve but if it's for emiting particles a specified position some start would be a using a "get data" set to "yourcube.PolygonPosition" (check the spelling) plugged into an "Emit from Position"

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
yeah that was that, and it worked. Now i've these cube shaped particle, with 0 speed, that stays in place. My goal now is to play with these particles, like to randomly move them back and forward, spin then etc.
My question now is: i've this particles in place (0 speed), if i want them to move forward and then come back in position, how can i do it? Cause modifing the speed doesn't work (i suppose the speed affect the new born particles, but i've only a fixed rate to have 1 particle each polygon)

get point position > and add / subtract > set point position
Gossip is what no one claims to like, but everybody enjoys.

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
right now i solved putting a randomize around value in Mass and Speed of the particle, but i'll try to see the difference. Btw for now i want that the particles randomly moves only backward, so away from the camera (cause i'm facing the particle grid).
For who knows After Effect a bit, i'm trying to achieve what the Card Dance do, only in 3d ^^
and btw, tnx a lot for suggestions so far

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
Update: i'd want to make a wave movement with the particles. I thought i could create a rectangle and use it with a Surface Force passing it on the particles, but it doesn't seems to work, cause all the particles get away from it and not only the ones that are close.

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
it seems you more likely targetting a motion graphic like animation style.
Then, i think you need to think about an unsimulated ice tree (in the modeling region), then you could more easily control your particles and do sine movements since the modulation of your particles always refers to the emit position. (hope i was clear)

Re: Emit particles from mesh polygons
could you create a series of curves, and then control the movement of the particles along those.. this tutorial is very clear: http://www.digitaltutors.com/lesson/19009
