They are developers of renderer, not web designers. Site design is from 2010, I'd believe someone made this design for them, 2010 - that's all. Solid Angle seems to prefer even more minimalistic design

3Delight for Softimage version 4 is reportedly on the way. The licensing model can be a drawback in some situations.
