I thought I saw this at Siggraph, but I guess not. I thought it was something crazy like $10k. Maybe I was thinking of Bunkspeed. I get all confused with all these new renderers....

Those robots/machines are looking great: not too futuristic so that they appear to have been built not in a distant future.
Coincidentally, I have about a year since I'm working (when I can in free time) on a spider robot and I can only hope to achieve that level of detailing which is amazing.

edit: wait... wait... that guy modeled one robot PER DAY?! Holy crap! :-o

One my fellow use it for stills, mainly for rendering the zBrush stuff - more about here (contains nudity !). Afaik he found it as most simple renderer, from point of view of someone who mainly use zBrush - I think he never used MentalRay or like...
Looks like yet another path tracer. Doesn't seems to be clear, does it support deformation motion blur.
