This and the whole new Autodesk logo and web style is utterly horrid IMHO.
I thought nothing could surprise us anymore after two consecutive leaks.
To this the question "what were they thinking?" doesn't even apply.
The question "were they thinking at all?" seems more appropriate...

NINJA EDIT: For the record, I don't mind the new visual style...but if they're not going to update XSI, they could at least let us keep the old one. I don't really think the new one matches our existing furniture

It's not just the product logos that are changing, it's pretty much everything.

Personally I like it and look of some of the new web pages. Considering what it was only yesterday, it's way better by some margin. Autodesk's look did look a tad dated at times, but now it looks alot fresher and cleaner. And it certainly signifies a change for Autodesk, which imo, is a good thing.

the new website for Softimage is incredible IMHO . it truly shows the depth of the product (title is even Procedural Visual Effects). the logo is fine, it would have been a nightmare if Softimage would have been left behind with the 1990s Sumatra graphics while 100 other products are getting updated with the origami brand style.

According to my weather app, the sky is *NOT* falling today where I am. Hope it's the same for everyone else....

The new site looks very nice, fresh and graphics are well used. The origami works great for the Autodesk logo, but too crowded for the others. Max logo looks like the Maya one but turned sideways.....and this has completely ruined my entire day!!!

Maybe some encouragement for the new developers is also needed here. If I were any of them, visiting this forum would not be on my top list of sources for motivation

i think sofimage is only can fight with houdini with ice if the autodesk devlope it but the autodesk want we switch to maya.
and that Politics for more cash for autodesk which we bay plugin.

I actually like the new logo a lot, its fresh, live color, the one we had before was horrid. Of the 3 of them i like Softimage the most.
Bit of changing is needed, hopefully there gonna be change in other aspects too, like developments and updates.
