There is an error in the description (confirmed by Raff).
It is a course for XSI (not Maya). Ignore the M in the description.
Ignore the mention of Maya in the description, it was flagged with CGS but busy with the launch and all they haven't had time to rectify it yet.
It's all XSI 7 and python 2.3 or above.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Raff
Raff is a very good teacher of Python. He did this training in the past and the reviews were always highly appreciated, worth it.

Looks like a bargain I would say, due to the shear ammount of content.

COM is the context of many issues, analyze your code to see that it's not python anymore. Solve fabricated problems with special workarounds which are not applicable in other packages where python integrated properly. Yeah, sounds fun!

@iamVFX:
Not really relevant to this thread... I'm surprised you're having so many issues that it has brought you to this seemingly deep hatred of python in Softimage. I rarely run into any of these COM issues you post about. There are certain instances yes but can count on my one hand how many times I've needed to compensate for it in the last 2 years.
Regarding the workshop:
The workshop is full of really great info. It was great to take the class a few years back and helped me tremendously in cleaning up my code and provided some really great dev methodologies. Raf goes at a really good pace, not too fast or slow, and having the videos available to rewatch is helpful to refresh every now and again. I worked with Raf for a year and a few months after I took that class and learned a ton more while doing so. Raf really knows his stuff and this should be on everyone's list of training. The price is really really worth it as I believe the full workshop was $500.
