obj import

Did anyone notice when the list was up whether they have fixed the OBJ import?

I just tried to import an OBJ exported from 3DS Max using SI's native OBJ importer and it failed! No crash, just no mesh imported.

I started to think maybe there was something wrong with the file, then I used a 3rd party obj importer (the gw one) and everything came in fine!

So basically, SI can't even read in a very standardised exchange file format from another of AD's products, and this has been flaky in SI for quite a few versions now! ~x(

The native obj import is bad indeed. But under "File > Import > Import FBX", you can then click Alias OBJ (*obj) in the File Types list. That import should be somewhat better...

Thank's for the pointer! worked fine in SI2013 :) (although gw:obj has a more sophisticated import options page)

Tried it in SI2012 SAP and guess what? ......... CRASH!!!!!!!
