Setting preferences through a workgroup?

Hey,
Is it possible to set some preferences through a workgroup?
So for example, when people connect to it, some shot details to appear by default in the camera slate... and various other things like this would be really handy.
or some other way to globally control individual prefs and default settings?

You could use an event to set the preferences (e.g. EndSceneOpen)

Last time I checked (years ago), preference files (.xsipref) in workgroups were ignored.
