Cloned lights/ lights sharing shader?

Post by Kerro Perro » 14 Jan 2013, 17:09

Well this might be one of those questions to wich the answer is just "no" but here goes:

I want to set up a whole row of lights that all have some "fast light effect" shader stuff on them and well it would also be good to just control multiple lights without having to make a multiple selection.

But you can't clone them and you can't assign materials/shaders as such.... Or can you? :-?

You can override all your lights and use just 1 node :)

Yes, in a light partition/group :)
Try this:
Create a partition with your lights, add an override to that partition, select LightShader as override parameter/port and connect your shader to the override in the render tree. Now all your lights should be using 1 node/shader and you don't have to multi edit anymore.
