Render question
rendering is so slow.....even with a double decker graphics card, rendering 2,000 frames takes about 8 hours.. is that normal, or is there any way to speed it up?
thanks
thanks

Re: Render question
14s a frame (if my math is correct) ? That doesn't sound so bad.
And graphic cards don't have anything to do with rendering afaik.

Re: Render question
Well you might want to give us some more info, post image, settings, what kind of render you doing? There are milions of things that could happen, its like "my car doesnt start, what could it be?".
And yes, graphic card has nothing to do with rendering unless you are using a GPU based render, which mental ray is not.

in this case, I'm using mental render, 5,000 frame scene. even breaking it up at 1,000 frames a scene it takes forever to render..no extra settings (toon image, lens flare, etc), just a basic render..i'll try and post images of 'the set' to give an idea of what it's handling in a bit

Re: Render question
5000 is a lot of frames.
Some things just take time.

nope, never heard of itxsisupport wrote:Are you rendering with xsibatch? If not, why not
and yeah, 5,000 is alot of frames, but even splitting it up to 500 per render session doesn't speed things up much.

usually 500 frames takes an hour or so.. with this one it seems to take 3
