negative scalar slider range

Is there a way to have a scalar value obey a range that goes from -2 to +2? Scalar seems to automatically only go from zero upwards.
Currently I'm using a custom p set slider to overide the value by linking the ice value to the custom parameter range.
(I hope that makes sense)

for this you need to (a or b)
a - force your slider to go down with your mouse wheel for example, the slider will adjust
b - a more clean solution, create a coumpound and remap the sliders like my screenshot
