Hi, I have been doing some texts in 3d today (havent done that in a long time), anyway I was using Create>text>solid mesh, and one thing I found strange was that, everytime I duplicated a text and tried to edit the duplicated It also changed my original text. Now, I havent been cloning or instancing the text, just duplicated as usual with ctrl+D or edit>duplicate/instanciate>duplicate.
What is happening? how should I fix that?
Softimage 2013 by the way.
Many thanks.

Re: duplicate text
Each of the duplicated polymeshes has an operator that uses the same Nurbs curve list to create the text.luchifer wrote:Hi, I have been doing some texts in 3d today (havent done that in a long time), anyway I was using Create>text>solid mesh, and one thing I found strange was that, everytime I duplicated a text and tried to edit the duplicated It also changed my original text. Put the polymsh and text in a model, and duplicate the model.

Re: duplicate text
Actually you don't need to use a model. Just select both the curve and the polymesh, and duplicate them together. The duplicated polymesh will use the duplicated curve as its generator. BTW the same principle holds when duplicating objects and their deformers, objects and their constraints, etc.
P.S. If it doesn't work, check your Duplicate Options.
