Hi everyone – we’ve just uploaded a teaser and detailed overview for the Creation Platform CAPI work. This is a critical part of Creation, as it allows you to take advantage of CP’s performance and flexibility from within your existing DCC applications. Even better, it allows you to move your custom tools between different applications, and as always you can run standalone. We’ve put together a few different examples that run in Softimage and Maya, and all of this will be provided with the next release in a week or so. We are still working on hooking the new real-time renderer in with the CAPI work, so that isn’t shown in these videos – but it’s coming.
As you can see, we've hooked pretty deeply into ICE with custom Get and Set data nodes for CP. We hope you like it

Looking forward to hearing what you think.
Cheers,

This looks like the solution to so many problems and it's so great that it's on multiple platforms. These are the tools I'm hoping someone will build right away:
1) A complete SI viewport replacement based on this
2) Lagoa (or similar) SIM replacement running on this
Way beyond my ability but I'd pay for that

Well with the new renderer going in, you get the best of both worlds - there may be scenarios where you want Creation to handle everything, but often you will want a mix of SI and Creation. The next release (in a week or so) will have the new renderer running in Soft and Maya.
As for simulation - we`ll get to it next year. We should be able to bring some pretty impressive performance, especially once it`s hooked into our GPU work.

It's really great to FINALLY see some progress in this area. Best of luck, I'm watching intently
Rendering is first priority so I'm glad to hear that.
A system like Lagoa would be so much more useful if it was about 1000 times faster. I like it but it's SO SLOW....
Great news all round!
