Why is the edge length always zero?

I'd say that it is because you're switching context. What's Edge Length in the context of a point cloud? I don't know if that 's technically the real reason, but it sound good :)

Try Build Array from Set, and then use Point ID to select from that array.

What's Edge Length in the context of a point cloud
that's a nice sentence, makes sence

What doesn't make sense is this:

I scaled the sphere a bit but the points stay at the original position.
Even freezing the sphere didn't help, how's that?

And last, how can a normal be converted to a orientation? I want the strands to be in the direction of the edgeNormal.

Ups sorry, my mistake. Thought the most ICE fixed people would have it ;)
The tree would also run without it. Then you have only the start and the end strand position.

That´s inside the compound. Build it, save it and you will use it very often i think...

That's the same as "Build Linearly Interpolated Array" but i assume "Build Linearly Interpolated Array" is added in a later version (2013 maybe?).

I did what face had on the image (exept i used "Build Linearly Interpolated Array" that is included in softimage).
This is the result i get:

does anyone have a idea what goes wrong?
