This topic is based on, well I admit it, a stupid mistake/oversight,
as Stephen Blair and Daniel Brassard point out in the next two posts
Softimage offers this facility all along (if you know where to find it)
An interesting development (at least I thought so) over in the 3ds Max universe. Autodesk’s Christopher Diggins has come up with a way to use C# more as a "classical" scripting language in that his plugin dynamically compiles and runs C# scripts.
Might be fun if such a plug would find its way to our universe as well...

But there already is such a plugin, isn't there?Hirazi Blue wrote:An interesting development (at least I thought so) over in the 3ds Max universe. Not familiar too much with C# but I though you could script with C#

I never knew about that one, so thanks for pointing it out.
(It might however been highlighted better on the SDK docs introductory pages on C#)
But luckily for me this answer provides me with good enough reason to try my hand at C# again, as my mistake of thinking this wasn't possible in SI was one of the reasons not to dig deeper into C# ("silver lining"). The other reason, C# needing a recompile for every new version of SI still applies or is this also based on flawed information on my part?
