Re: Speedtree export to Softimage problem
It looks spectacular, just a bit expensive unless you really have use for it. There's a free tutorial on Digital Tutors I watched that shows some of it's capability. Wow, very cool. I may be tempted to try it sometime but it's always the damn import/export issues that make such things a pain. I wish this was an integrated SI addon, then it would be very attractive!
BTW, no surprise the textures are messed up with FBX, I don't think I've ever had FBX actually work properly, it's a complete mess.

Re: Speedtree export to Softimage problem
You have to export it from Speed Tree as an .obj. When it comes into Softimage the leaves will not have an alpha attached. Go into the render tree and place the alpha in the transparency channel for the leaves/needles what ever its named.zorfilms wrote:Hi, anyone can help me with the proper pipeline to export a tree with animation done in speedtree to softimage? The missing Triangles will go away with .obj and not .fbx. Speed Tree knows about the problem so hopefully it can be fixed with the next update. Here is a picture of my settings from Speed Tree. I hope this helps!

I use Softimage for game development. Is there really anything else?

The obj file is on the left and the fbx on the right. You can see the triangles missing in the trunk on the right.
