... is it possible in SI to reference scenes like models together ? So to be able to work on stuff in reduced scenes and centralize them in a main-scene ?
* Instaces / materials working cross over
* sharing a timeline
* etc.

Re: Referencing Scenes Together ...
You should be able to break your scene down into different assets such as each character, prop, set, lightrig, camera, etc.
Each of those types of assets will have their own model they are built under. Once you are at that point you export each asset to the Models directory. Then for each shot you have in your project you reference those in and animate accordingly.
For maintaining the assets you'll probably keep them up to date and building upon them after each model export and you keep a good workflow only updating assets by importing them (not as referenced models) and updating / fixing and re-exporting. Your references in your shots will need updating to thse newer versions but is the easiest path to keeping assets up to date and animators working.
For sets you can probably break them down more atomically and say, have each building in its own model. Each model when imported / referenced in will bring in the materials used in them as well and should hook up to textures and all if the relative paths are maintained.
For your effects work you'll want to ensure that the instance masters are in the same model as the asset you're working on to keep the IDs the same.

Re: Referencing Scenes Together ...
ok, interesting. So with importing rather than referencing you eliminated the instance referencing problem ... good idea.
Question, is there a way to exchange the master id for instances ?
In case of changes in complex setups that can be less efforts some times.

I believe it is the order they are added to the group if I'm not mistaken.
