is there a way to see which object (B) is involved in the boolean operation of object A ?

Show > Operator Links in the schematic view. When you select A, it will show a link to B.
You can also select the Boolean Surface operator in the SDK explorer then look at its port connections (under Object Details).

How does it work with the SDK Explorer ? I checked view / layouts / Tool Dev Env ... but didn't see

That's odd. The schematic works for me. Anyway, here's how it looks in the SDK explorer:

Wasn't there a 'smart boolean' tool that could boolean objects and making sure the target object stayed quads/tris ?
