wave effect, How to

Post by funky75 » 08 Oct 2012, 13:15

Hello there,
I would like to make a wave effect on a token tower, When My null move, it makes my pile spread at the same position of my null and all come back to start position when it pass.
Don't know if I'm really clear, two screenshots to explain my crazy brain.. :))

Thank you.

These images are blocked here by sophos because it has some malware issue (mal.htmlgen-a) with the site they're hosted on (real-lies.com). It's often wrong but could you upload them somewhere else? e.g. imgur or as an attachment?

is there a question or are you just sharing your solution to the problem?

if you are attempting to create a mearly procedural motion, with no simulation of collision inbetween objects I recomend you take a look at this set of tools:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2577

in all honesty you dont need them to solve this in ICE, in fact you already seem to be going pretty far. but this tools are designed for procedural animation and have ease of use and modularity in mind. you can easyly set up what you are after emmiting a line of instances and using a modify with null compound that moves and rotates your objects... in a C4D moGraph fashion.

as I said you seem to be pretty much on your way, really I didnt even get what the question is about... :p
I dont understand why you use a surface force for your effect :-o

in case you want to better detail what is that you are not being able to get done, we may be in a better situation to help you

Is this simulated? I would try using State Machines. Starts at the input positions, then transitions to wave effect (state 2) by the null, then returns to start position (state 3, or maybe even state 1) maybe with a timer trigger.

Also, I think you are generating duplicate points with your additional ports in the Add Point.
