Fabric Engine/Creation Platform update

Post by FabricPaul » 28 Aug 2012, 17:47

Hi everyone - I've managed to get my head up for air, we had a pretty hectic August. Siggraph was a good show for us, but man the expo part is getting small.

I'll just give you the recent highlights:

1) we're in final beta on Creation Platform now, and things are going well. The beta list is pretty active - sign up http://fabricengine.com/creation/get-creation/ if you`re interested
2) we made a cool virtual production tool with Halon (built in just a few hours the Saturday before Siggraph!) https://vimeo.com/groups/fabric/videos/47448643. The jazz was not my choice - blame/praise Helge :)
3) we`ve put a few tutorials out there recently. One is a guide to building an asset viewer, another is on getting Creation working inside Maya to display lidar data. You can see them at http://fabricengine.com/learn/tutorials
4) we're hoping to have something to talk about soon regarding Creation and SI :)

Really grateful for the support shown by people here - it`s been over two years since we started, with a few bumps and dips on the way. It`s great to see people actually using it :)

Cheers,

Paul

great to hear about the potential softimage integration (at whatever level/amount) it will help adoption of the CP.
