testing the type of an input in ICE

Is there a way to test the input type in ICE, eg:

is vector: case 0, is scalar: case 1, etc..

No. What are you trying to do?

Nothing serious. Just making a bunch of small array compounds to ease everyday work - and in some of them it would be beneficial to be able to test what type it is fed (e.g. in the interpolate array elements).
