Robot tire rig (SOLVED)

Post by Leandro Oliveira » 10 Sep 2009, 16:21

Hi,

I have a character, a robot that has no legs, but a tire instead. I want the tire rotates when I move the controller in local Z axis direction, but it´s not working. If I move in positive Z, works, but when I rotate de controller, the tire stops rotate or rotate inverse.

I am noob in this type of rig. I´m using the follow expression in Tire´s Rotation X: mdl_Robo.CTRL_Robot.kine.local.posz * 25

Can anybody help me?

Thanks.

Well, I´ve applied a script that I found in NetView Legacy (I am using XSI 7.5), named Wheel. Basically, it does the same thing I´ve already tried: write an expression in the Wheel object --->

360 / ( 2 * PI ) * CTRL.kine.global.posz / ( 2 / 2 )

But my problem continues. Below, follows the link with a video where you can view my problem:

Here´s the solution: just download an ICE compound from the link:

http://area.autodesk.com/downloads/plug ... cript=&os=

The instructions are in compund properties.

Bye.

Well, as the friendly folk down at the Area still haven't fixed their logon problem, direct linking gets you absolutely nowhere (or precisely: the Area asks you to logon and then redirects you back to the external webpage you came from) 8-} , I edited your post (and placed the new URL within URL-Tags, as is/should be customary @ this community...
I logged the strange logon-behavior at the Area quite a while ago, and "someone would look into it", I guess they are still looking...

Ok, Hirazi Blue. But the user must log in to download the compound.

cheers.

Huh?
Sure, the user must logon, but if logging on results in getting redirected back here, then logging on seems quite futile, doesn't it? That is why "my" link gets you to the Area, from where logging on at least redirects you to the Area itself!!! ;)
