Just to say the price asked to upgrade from SI 2012 to SI 2013 is 2003,00 Euros !!!
It seems this is crisis for people but not for Autode$k

Autodesk want you to go on 'maintenance' payments, and the way they do that is to make the 'non-maintenance' upgrade price ridiculous!

This is the way it has always been. Whatever resller sold you 2012 should have informed you of the costs. If you're planning on sticking with Softimage for an extended period of time maintenance is the way to go as you get all upgrades during your maintenance period, email and phone support too.
