simply polygon trying to extrude along this curve "going to be a sidewalk under this building. when i try extruding it gives me the wrong result. i want the edge to follow along the curves edge but its doing its own thing? ive tried moving the center on the poly object, nothing seems to work, this is extremely frustrating, ive never come across anything like this. i dont konw how to get it to work right. anyone know how i can get this to function how i need it?
i did a mockup of how it should look in photoshop. helpo!

its not the subdivisions, if you see where the center edge is on that extruded piece its off from the center of the curve as well. makes no sense why this is happening.

then I guess you should try to adjust the curve:

It is just a matter of tweeking it to get it to work, try increasing the subdvs to like 50 and see what happens...

You might also try extruding a face instead of edges - sometimes extruding edges along a curve gives me odd behaviour (maybe because of the normals), so try connecting the edges with a face first.

I think the problem occurs because your poly isn't centered on your curve - it's to the left of it and SI keeps it to the left. First center the poly so its center is on the curve, then extrude, then translate the mesh as you wish. (something like an 'offset to curve' function would be useful in cases like this... maybe it's there but I just don't know it)
[EDIT] After playing around for a bit, here's another way to do it if you want to keep the poly you've got and use it in the position you've got it in:
- select just the edge that's on the curve (the one in the Y on the right hand side)
- extrude to curve, set subdivs high enough -> you get a strip of polys running perfectly along your curve
- delete the original poly
- select the remaining ones (the mesh, not the polys) and use kim aldiss' 'thickness' plugin, using the curve again as guide object
(I couldn't manage to extrude the strip of polys correctly in another way - duplicate then move along local Y should work in my opinion but it gives incorrect results)

(some pics to illustrate above post)
1 - Select the edge that's on the curve

2 - extrude along curve

3 - delete original poly

4 - add 'tiny thickness' plugin

5 - with translate on local Y I get this... doesn't look like it should IMO...
