A short from a little group (don't know if this is the right place for it...)

Re: Ruin
Some nice visuals in there, but as a "short" I found it a bit bland/generic.
Somehow it has the "look & feel" of well-crafted game cinematics...
Well made nonetheless & a good promotion for Modo & Lightwave, I guess.

Agree. Don't like the character animation (animation done in LW), but modo (used for modelling and rendering) give a good quality prove.Hirazi Blue wrote:Some nice visuals in there, but as a "short" I found it a bit bland/generic.

Re: Ruin
I have to agree with Hirazi.
It looks really good, especially in the beginning it looks impressive, but the storyline is boring and it lost me after the first minute.
Chase!! Flying Terminator thingies!! Explosions!!! Meh.....
It's too bad that you see wonderfully crafted animations all over the web, with the non-story being a placeholder for showing off effects.
But as a 'see what our studio can do' it's a big thumbs up.

Oh sureI'm pretty sure the weird run cycle has nothing to do with Lightwave. ;)
I I remember a short all action, Azureus was the name, if I'm not wrong. The idea was create a short, with fast and furious action, like a tech demo for attracting some investor and involving in a more big project. I think this short has the some aim.

The scenery and bugs/birds/atmos are truly great! On par with any feature film IMO. The character looked a little odd running but not bad.
I did have to wonder though why the missiles were so slow and the aircraft such a bad shot but that goes for most action movies. Great sense of speed from the MC point of view though.
Quite an ambitious project!
