Hi,

Please, someone help me.../.

I bought a new computer just to work with softimage but my graphic card is driving me insane. Most likely you guys know about this slow selection problem with ati cards, but I didn´t...and I just can´t fix this.

Can someone help me? I already tried to go to the setenv.bat to emulgate opengl to 1.4. This classic fix didn´t work.

Should I just sell this stupid card and buy another one...?

Well, the only question that remains is what version of the driver you are using?
"Rolling back" to earlier versions sometimes does the trick as "newer" in this case doesn't automatically mean "better", I'm afraid. Looking at the Graphic Hardware Pages for Softimage some Radeons were tested, not yours sadly, but the testing was done with "AMD Catalyst 11.6 [8.861.0.0]", so while I admit it being a long shot, you might want to try that one... I even found a download location (assuming you're using Vista x64/Windows 7 x64) as the Autodesk location doesn't work anymore for some reason. But again: a long shot!!!

Did I already mention the "try at your own risk" rule?

I only had Ati (now AMD) video cards back when I was only playing games at a PC, but as soon as I've met 3D I've broke up with Ati. They still do amazing cards for gaming, but their drivers leave you wanting almost every time. One cannot help wonder, what was in your head when you bought a PC for 3D with an ATI card?
