Im currently watching the developments of 3D Coat at the moment ,it may interest some of you who work with high poly models.Especially Zbrush users.
He has already implemented a poly paint system with layers that is a lot superior to zbrushes system. Those of you who have worked with the polypaint layer system in Zbrush will probably already know that it is limited and buggy. You can import a polypainted zbrush model via the OBJ format and carry on painting.
Andrew the creator of 3D Coat is currently developing a system for 3D Coat where you can boolean poly painted voxel models .Once the next update is released it will be possible to boolean poly painted voxel models together with no degradation in colour .
Just thought Id give you guys the heads up on it.
heres some links if you want to keep tabs on it yourselves

It's a well-known fact that Andrew Shpagin "eats new features for breakfast" (???)
and his twitter account is always a fun read...
But personally I lost track as to where he is planning to take 3D Coat as a whole ultimately...
;)
