Position a null on a particle

Post by ChrB » 17 Jan 2012, 21:08

Hi,

I am trying to constrain a null (lets call him trackNull) to a particle through ICE. The particle is on a point cloud, which is a child of a null (lets call him masterNull).

I imagined smt like this as a non simulated ICE tree on trackNull :

Get pointCloud -> ID to Location -> Get point position -> (multiplied by the transformation matrix of the masterNull) -> SRT to Matrix -> Set self.kine.global -> Port

but the null does not go to the right position and it jumps between two positions on each other frame...

Can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance

Or...
  • Select the null.
  • In the ICE toolbar, click Kinematics > Effects > Transform Objects by Particles.
  • Pick the point cloud.
The null is now constrained to particle 0.
There's an ICETree on the null where you can change the particle index, to constrain the null to a particle with a different ID.
