I thought ICE was a visual programming language and therefore would be able to achieve similar results to that of maxscript.
You can work with loops, but you can't affect scene objects the way you suggested because you need to specify exactly which objects you want to work with.
Example: Let's say you have 9 objects that are called stone1 to stone9. You can work with all of these objects, but you'll have to specify each one separately, like so:
Code: Select all
Set Data stone1.attribute
Set Data stone2.attribute
.
.
Set Data stone9.attribute
You cannot do something like
Code: Select all
Set Data "stone" + i + ".attribute"
When getting data, you can put your objects in a group and work with them as an array. You could then do:
And this would return an array of attributes which you could work with. But you can't do the same when setting data.
In most scenarios that ICE is typically used for this is not an issue, but in certain cases I would REALLY like to be able to work this way.
