i got emtools' quantize polygon working for me... but this is the problem im facing! i cant seem to get colors from the texture.
is there a way to grab the colors from the objects' texture in the voxels(emtools quantize polygon compound)?
i wrote to eric mootz,
unfortunately not a very optimistic reply (but seems there is some hope):
no, that is not possible, sorry.
But you could colorize the particles afterwards by using a "Get closest location on Geometry" or something. Perhaps you could ask for some help in a forum, e.g. www.si-community.com?
if anyone could help me out i would be grateful. even through another approach, it just has to be a voxrlization on the basis of an animated (slice) object.
PS: ive also posted this on xsibase.
thanks

Not in front of SI right now, but...
What Mootz is sugestin is that you Get Closest Location on Geometry. Location in ICE is something that holds a bunch of information (like color for example) at a specific point in space. You really should check this out (http://vimeo.com/26869262).
That Get Closest Location on Geometry (node) will allow you to get the info residing in the Locations of that geometry that are the closest to the points in your point cloud. (confusing?)
Hope this helps you a little at least, sorry for not having a screenshot at the moment
