Relax Particles

Relax Particles This compound works similarly to the factory »Relax« deform, but operates
on particles instead of mesh points. Helps maintain an evenly-spaced particle distribution
over an object surface. A number of options are available such as max number of points,
cutoff, iteration count, repulsion, attraction, and an »evenness« color
gradient.

Re: Relax Particles
Looks very interesting but I can't play the video for some reason
Edit: Finally got it to work, must just be my browser.
That is really interesting. Would there be any way to make the particles follow a specific pattern of lines, like rivets on a aircraft for example?

Re: Relax Particles
hum, I don't think so. Not with this setup.Would there be any way to make the particles follow a specific pattern of lines, like rivets on a aircraft for example?
This is a chaotic organization of particles, they are constantly pushing away from each other. It is almost impossible to predict movement flow.
What you always expect is that they will try to distribute themselves along the surface, no matter what path they choose.
But you can try to relax the particles and then filter them out by a weightmap or texture map.

Re: Relax Particles
Very interesting concept, looks A LOT less expensive then dart throwing for placing stuff around... Would it be possible (eventualy) to take point size and scale into consideration?

Re: Relax Particles
yes, it is less expensive but also a little less accurate, which is acceptable is most cases anyway...
I think you can take size in consideration if you modulate relax factor by the particle size, I'll try something tomorrow.
