How to give particles the color of a map texture from a mesh

Post by didier13 » 15 Nov 2011, 12:47

Hi all,

1 - I have an object with a texture map apply to it.
2 - I have points cloud generated from ice that reproduce the mesh object ( the object is not an emitter)
3 - I want the particles points to have the color of the texture of the object based on the nearest location

Unfortunatly, i've try several technics without success.

Do you have an idea how to do this?

Thanks,

You have to apply the particle color in the render tree. Load the attribute with an attribute color node and connect it into the diffuse port of your shader.
