New to modeling. Engaged in duplication of the profile of a particular train.
Have the general dimensions already stored to softimage. Looking for a way to match the highlighted profile and achieve symmetry. There is also the issue of the curved roof. Guidance sought.

The very first thing I'd do is to search for some better reference images or even blueprints so you have a nice front and side view you can use as rotoscope images while modeling...

You could add some more subdivisions to the cube, select the points and move them until you get the result.
Or create two curves along the profil, one @ front, the other one @ end of the train and loft.
