Hey folks
I'm trying to do a simple thing, which is to randomly distribute non-moving particles on a grid.
This should be no problem with all the "Randomize..." and "Random Value" plus "Emit" Nodes provided by ICE,
but i realized that every time i resimulate, the same particle-distribution occurs, which is not what i need if i want to simulate through different scenarios.
I built a node creating an array full of random numbers but the numbers too are the same everytime i run it.
I know that there is no "real random" in computing but couldn't i somehow get the system-time into the ICE-Tree,
to vary the seeds depending on it every time i simulate.
Any other suggestions as to how that problem can be solved are also welcome.
Am i missing something really simple here?
Thanks in advance
create "random" values ?

Re: create "random" values ?
Sadly it does not because that's just giving the same seed everytime again.
It's just one "Random Value" Node more to calculate.
Does nobody know how to get an always changing value like the time into ICE?

Use an expression on the seed:redwyn wrote:Does nobody know how to get an always changing value like the time into ICE?
RAND( , 1 , 99999 )
