Herr Hoppe and the nuclear waste

Post by Hirazi Blue » 18 Jul 2011, 07:43

A nice set of short animations titled "Herr Hoppe und der Atommüll" (Herr Hoppe and the nuclear waste) made by Jan Lachauer & Thorsten Löffler can be found here, centering on the struggle of one man to get rid of "his" nuclear waste.
The chapter headings are in German but they should be self-explanatory.
edit: New - English captions have been provided...

Lighting, Shading, Rendering: Softimage & Arnold
(part of the) Modeling, Animation, Rigging: Maya

Not really high-end Arnold work probably, but nicely done (and funny IMHO) nonetheless ;)

Nice - they were pretty funny (the humping bird in particular ;)) ) The renders looked good, i wonder if the dust/smoke puffs were Arnold too - they looked very MR and on his showreel you can see they were composited in.

This might well be the case, I only quoted the software mentioned
in this thread in the German Softimage Forum.
