please fix SI-WIKI search [AGAIN]

The search function @ the Softimage WIKI has been broken for a while now
(see this thread in the mailing list for instance)
If only someone were to fix it...

Somehow the WIKI search became "unfixed" again.
It returns the infamous "Badly formed search query" on every query once more...

Nobody at Autodesk|Softimage cares enough about the WIKI to fix the search function?
If so, I'd say kill the WIKI altogether and move on or else try to maintain it...

and yes I know I can do Google site searches to my heart's content, but that's besides the point

I am told that someone is working on it. The wiki was moved to a different server recently, and it's a bit delicate because it uses an older version of WikiMedia that in turn uses an even older version of php. But at least we have the "message of the day" back (that is an RSS feed from the wiki).

Well, I really hope this is a maintenance thing/glitch, but today (=just now) I was greeted by an Autodesk Login screen when trying to visit it the wiki and this login screen didn't even recognize my AD user name & password...


PS - Just checked: even trying to access the pages directly (via Google Search) gets you to this dreaded Login screen...

PS2 - This doesn't just seem to be a wiki-thing, the Area exhibits the same behavior...

Now that the broken WIKI-search has been mentioned once more on the Mailing List (here),
one would hope it finally will get fixed (again).
Maybe as a christmas gift, for all of us who haven't stopped believing?

You can install an XSI Wiki search plugin for your browser from HERE. I've been using it for years and and am quite happy with it, I use it in IE and Chrome.

You will need to edit the wiki url in the source after installing this plugin since it predates the Autodesk aquisition.
Change:
softimage.wiki.avid
to:
softimage.wiki.softimage

Yes, those are handy... (not to me personally, as I use Opera, but that's besides the point)
It would however still be nice if someone @ Autodesk|Softimage would bother to fix it or at least disable search altogether and add a notice "we are unable to fix the WIKI search, use Google search instead" or reinstate something like this page.
The time this has been left unfixed now is somewhat ridiculous IMHO.

Luckily it's easy enough to create a custom search engine in Opera also

It's true, they fixed the WIKI Search, probably when the WIKI "took a short break" recently and that's real nice...
While fixing this, however, the broke something else.
They changed the way URL's are named/formed for every page, rendering all old links on forums like this useless...
Beginner's mistake? I shudder to think what will go wrong, when they try to fix this new problem...


Example:
The old URL:
http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/ind ... ry:Support goes nowhere anymore.

The new URL:
http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/ind ... ry:Support does.
As you can see not much has changed, but no old link can be easily resolved now...
