Yes: the "local backup"-feature is invaluable for some "legacy" plug-ins,
where the original download-link is already dead and buried...

I've added a little feature to rray.de, if you want to create a link to a particular plugin or those of a particular author only,

you can set a filter in the URL, something like
http://rray.de/xsi/?filter=taut
or
http://rray.de/xsi/?filter=daniel.rind (notice the ".")

works for tags also I believe
