having seen the nice work from Actionart with WWII related stuff, i decided to show some war machines too (unfortunately in wip mode)
i don't know when i'll find the time to finish them, but any c&c are welcome!
so, here i go with the Tiger I

Totally awesome works geoath, congrats! Your modelling skills and obsession with detailing is so intense it hurts! Hope to see your models completed, they are already a feast for the eyes. Btw, have you ever thought of 3d printing one of those cuties?

Hirazi, about your question, this is something i make in my free time, not necessarily in a continuous manner.
Except the time i spend to find reference images, many times in between the modeling process (while looking for reference) i like to read about the history, technical information, interviews from people who used these machines, so my estimation will be with all the above included ( based on saved scenes dates).
the Tiger took me nearly 2 months, the hurricane 1 month, and the merlin engine 2 months!

the merlin was the toughest as i had only 3 views as rotoscope images (no cross sections or plan view), and a lot of time went trying to figure out what i was..modeling, and eyeballing the shape and dimensions from most of the machine parts.

Aumakua, i never thought for 3d print, this would require a specific workflow in modeling and.. a lot of money

EDIT: i've attached the wireframes, and another model also, a german anti-aircraft gun used a lot in warships as Bismarck, Prinz Eugen ect.
