So now I'm trying to download the 1,08 GB SAPSP1 file for what's by Softimage's own admission "just" a hotfix
and could (should?) have been distributed as such...

Why can't there at least be a download manager functionality for the "product enhancements" as well, or can this immense file be split into separate smaller parts? My Orbit Download Manager failed to reconnect/resume after more than an hour, so now I must do a complete retry. Autodesk might want to consider, not everybody has completely and utterly reliable high-speed broadband internet connections...

I'm looking forward to the 2012SP1, where the same thing is bound to happen again...


PS @SreckoM -Patience... rumor has it,
they want to roll out a final service pack for Softimage|3D 3.9 first.

no lagoa in this release either ... so is that 2011 sp2 just a simple 2011 sp1 upgrade ?? rather than a 2011 adv pack sp1 upgrade ?

Sounds like it, but in that case i might eventually throw everything out of the window in a quarter of a second !!! and set fire to the entire studio

Yes, that is the case. The naming might be confusing, but concerning the bugs fixed
in the last SP of the 2011 generation (or so one assumes),
2011SP2 and 2011 Subcription Advantage Pack SP1 are identical.
And the 2011 Subcription Advantage Pack SP1 is only available in the Subscription Center...
;)
So if you're using:
- SI 2011 or SI 2011SP1: you'll need SI 2011SP2
- SI 2011 Subscr. Adv. Pack, you'll need SI 2011 Subscr. Adv. Pack SP1 (from the Subscription Center)

And all of these should obviously not be confused with the 2012SP1 which is also available...

Thx Hirazi Blue for confirming this obvious and joyfull mess !!! ... seems i'll have to deploy a new 1GB install again over the farm, how I love that soooo much on a Sunday evening !
