The title of this thread is the same title of this page http://kiryha.blogspot.com/2011/04/userdata.html that explain, in Maya 2012, how to give different geometry, the same shader but with different diffuse channel.
Someone know how we can port it to Softimage? It will be great!

Could be that I am mistaken, but AFAIK this can already be done by utilizing "overrides".
Place one shared material on all of your geometries and place a separate override on every object pointing to the specific parameter you want to be different from the rest...

Can it also be a texture? Or simply a parameter?Hirazi Blue wrote:Could be that I am mistaken, but AFAIK this can already be done by utilizing "overrides".

AFAIK you should be able to connect a texture to an overridden parameter quite easily... From experience I can only say it works with the built-in procedurals, but applying any other kind of texture shouldn't pose too big of a problem either...
