Stunning as usual!!! ^:)^ ^:)^

I really like Tim's work with ICE, it really shows what you can do with it on a highly artistic level.
I also don't think a lot of people know Tim did the Softimage splashscreen at one point in time :)

Have a look at tim's website as well, it has a big gallery of all kinds of wonderful work.

First of all, thank you Oliver for posting it here :)

And thanks for the nice feedback.

Since I already got some requests about some kind of making of I will see what I can do. But don't expect to much technical magic, because most of it is rather simple ICE stuff.
In the meantime don't hesitate to ask any questions, if you are interested. I will try to answer them as good as I can.

Cheers
Tim

A very nontechnical question to begin with: what's the nice music accompanying the piece? I like it & how it flows together with the imagery
(although that obviously has more to do with the timing of the images :D)

Ah, thanks for the info...
An original piece then, not an adaptation of some classical piece?

Hi tim

Very nice piece you put together. I was wondering could you elaborate a little on how you achieved the lens effects you have and also the first major explosion/shatter

Thanks

Another question: how much work hours did approximately go into this beautiful piece?
(Or is it a trade secret?) ;)

@renisancex: The lens effects (if you are meaning the light effects) are mostly real light effects (things like real caustics and so on) which I filmed with a Canon7D. Atfer some tweaks I used them often as texture sequences on for example deformed and/or animated grids. The shattering was done with (guess) kratos and the explosion of the big pieces was eventually done in momentum 1. But I'm not totally sure (I have to take a look into the scene) maybe I used some ICE stuff instead, because I had some problems in the first setup. However I definitely cached it out as an ICE cache and then did a retime in ICE. The rest of the explosion was simply ICE, cached and retimed as the big pieces.

@Hirazi Blue: Too much :) Just kidding.
I can't give you an exact hour number. I had a soft start in the project. During the previous project I had the chance to do some layouts and tests inbetween. Two days here and two days there. So I think it was maybe 10 days during a time frame of 1 and a half month. Than I worked round about 4-5 weeks on the opener in one step to finish it. So maybe something round about 6-7 weeks I think. But often with definitely very, very long days.
